"Polishness’ at the Science Festival"

On September 26, a screening of the film “Polishness” will take place at the Institute of Psychology of the Polish Academy of Sciences, organized as part of the Warsaw Science Festival.

We invite you to a screening of the documentary film “Polishness in Seven Portraits,” based on the results of scientific research conducted by the Political Cognition Laboratory of the Institute of Psychology of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The screening will be preceded by a short introduction in which the project’s co-authors will present its research assumptions, and it will conclude with a discussion, to which all attendees are warmly invited. “Polishness” is an innovative documentary that sheds new light on the national identity of Poles. Drawing on the findings of the Political Cognition Laboratory at the Polish Academy of Sciences, the film invites viewers to explore diverse perspectives on Polishness, presenting seven unique stories of people living in Poland. “Polishness” stands out among documentary productions with its fresh approach to the topic of national identity. The film shows how diverse Poles are and how varied their experiences of belonging to the nation can be. See how Sister Tymoteusz Gil, Jan Błachowicz, Czesław Mozil, and other protagonists of the film find their place in Poland, redefining Polishness in a way that may inspire each of us to reflect on our own identity. “Polishness" is not just a film – it is an opportunity to understand how national identity is shaped in a rapidly changing world. It is an invitation to dialogue and to explore what contemporary Poland has to offer, what challenges it poses to its citizens, and what opportunities it opens up. If you want to look at Poland from a different perspective, reflect on your own identity, and experience how diverse Polishness can be, this film is for you. "Polishness" is not just a film – it is a unique experience that will allow us to discover different facets of contemporary Polishness. What is Poland to me today? What kind of Pole am I? What kind of Polish woman am I? What am I doing and what can I do to make life in my country better? Take part in the film screening and join the discussion about what it means to be Polish today.
